ComputerHelpGuy1 - I agree, but also know that AVG is the most popular AV, but now I would recommend Avast or Avira in preference as AVG is now much less effective.

KriMinalxSexy - Select Delete, it’s quite safe and they will be permanently removed from your system.
Would also be worth downloading and scanning with Malwarebytes antimalware or Superantispyware - both are free too :-)

I have 2 trojans on my computer that is in the AVG Virus Vault. It says delete. What does that mean? Will it delete it from my computer? Or will it go back on my hard drive?

  11. jmvneto51 - …
jmvneto51 - Microsoft has a habit of ‘buying out’ competeitors or going into league with them. It’s more about the financial benefits than protection.
AVG is the most popular AV but far from being one of the most effective and MS will be providing a free all-in-one security suite which AVG will probably have a hand in. Many programs are using MS colors to show that they are Vista / Windows 7 compatible, and again, it’s financial gain and not about providing the best solutions for end users

Thankx cotojo for explaining, now I´m felling really creepy about asking,… but… and why the same colors and squares in the logo mark of google chrome? Is MS taking over the whole enchillada or what?

  13. jmvneto51 - Good …
    jmvneto51 - Good question LOL
They are related to Microsoft, although they are indepently run by AVG Technologies. In 2006 Grisoft acquired the German company ewido Networks, and in 2007 acquired Exploit Prevention Labs, the makers of Linkscanner. In November 2006 Microsoft announced that AVG Security products would be available directly from the Windows Security Center in Windows Vista starting with V7.5

  14. If anyone could …
If anyone could answer! Why the new free AVG (8.5) has a colored (four colors) square logo mark almost like Microsoft? Are they related?

  15. CiviC092 - To be …
CiviC092 - To be honest I prefer Avast.
AVG is bloated and the latest version - 8.5 - still appears to have update problems.
CyberDefender contains spyware/adware and has been given bad reports as a rogue program.

  16. Do you prefer …
    Do you prefer either
    AVG or CyberDefender?

  17. stavs18 - Each to …
stavs18 - Each to his own, I know many users that swear by Norton, McAfee and others, ultimately it is their choice as to what they use and if it works for them then that’s great. I stick with Avast as it is faster, low resources and does what I need it to do and I did use AVG for many years and also have it on another machine which I use for test purposes.

  18. I wouldnt say its …
I wouldnt say its better really, Avg is the only anti virus software that has kept me well protected for a long period of time. Its been one year now and my computer still runs lightning fast, just like when i first booted it up from factory settings. Besides, I’m using a cracked fully supported version of Avg AV, so I’m not complaining at all. Ive tried Kaspersky and that is also pretty good, as is NOD32.

elementguy123 - To be honest, I use Avast and am quite happy with it, far superior to AVG V8 which is now directing itself to gaining paid customers.

  24. aznboi1398 - Any …
aznboi1398 - Any virus should automatically be placed in quarantine in the vault. If you have pop-ups then you do NOT have a virus you have a malware infection. Click on more info on right under my nic and go to my blog and click on a-z index, you want to use malwarebytes and superantispyware.

  25. I have a question. …
I have a question. My computer has a set scan schedule and the scan would go on while im at school. If a virus were to be detected, would it just automatically go to the virus vault or will the pop up of the virus just disappear for not doing a command and the virus would not be in the vault???

ANYONE PLZ REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
    THANK YOU
