I’ve had it of those non-sense free antiviruses. Now I’ll be shelling out my cash for an antivirus. Can you tell me which paid antivirus is good. The one that detects the best, uses the least resources and has low false-positive rates. 10 points for the most informative answer! :)
hello

Personally, I’ve tried kaspersky and norton.
you should know that it’s better to get an "insternet security program". this is a program that has antivirus and in addition it has firewall and some other utilities.

Now, the best ones I think are Kaspersky internet security and norton internet security.

Norton products are no longer ressource hungry, they are really easy to run now.
Personally I trust Norton more than kaspersky as they’re older and I guess have more experience in the domain.

now, If you’re gonna pay, so let it be a great product: The one I’m using is norton 360, it’s really awesome and is even more than a simple internet securoty. it does everything on your PC. it has tune up utilities, which means that it defragments your Hard disk, run scans, clean registry. in other words, it protects you and makes sure your PC runs smoothly.

As for the price, it’s not the cheapest one but as I told you: as long as you’re gonna pay, make it a great deal!!!

good luck

  5. I think Norton 360 is the best paid anti-virus. It comes with everything that you need. Norton has been in the market for while for home PC users. It also does not give you annoying pop ups like MacAfee and some free ones do.

    I hope that helps. :-)

  6. Norton 2010 360 Version is the best Antivirus Solution ( for now) as it uses the lowest resources while detecting Viruses, malware, spyware and adware ( just a few to list) and.. scanning just got faster! Norton 2010 360 Version Scans your hard disk the fastest, based on statistics.
It is also easy to turn off antivirus protect. Just right click on the norton icon in the taskbar, click disable Antivirus Auto-Protect, and select the limit of time you want it to be off, and DengDeng! It’s off!

  8. Kaspersky internet security. Install it on a clean computer and it will stay clean. I know, I have been using it for almost 3 years. No problems since. No more bugs or viruses or anything else since. Pay for Kaspersky. That’s the smart choice. It will run circles around Norton. If you have XP you will need at least one gig of ram. Vista & Windows 7, 2 gigs.

  10. Umm there are 4 good ones:
    Kaspersky Internet Security
    Norton Internet Security
    Panda Internet Security
    ESET Smart Security

They all have great detection rates which is the most important thing an antivirus should have. And the features they offer vary from product to product. You might have to review all of their features and then compare which one fits best for your budget and computer uses.

As of now, the cheapest ones are Kaspersky (3 users) and ESET (1 user) at $59.95. So I would buy Kaspersky because you can install it on more computers and it has a better antiphishing than ESET. However, ESET uses almost half the resources as Kasperksy, which could make a significance difference on your decision. Keep in mind that if you do decide to go with ESET, you’ll have to pay an additional $10 if you wish to install it to 2 computers, $30 for 3 users, or $60 for 4 users.
