I just got a mac running Snow Leopard 10.6 and windows XP Home through bootcamp. I plan to use surf the web in both platforms. What type of antivirus would do the best job? Is it recommended to install one antivirus for each OS? Does it make a difference if I choose to run XP with Parallels instead of bootcamps?
Here is Microsoft’s page for security providers:

You will only need antivirus in Windows, at the moment. If you run in Parallels, you will still need antivirus. I would recommend something like Kaspersky or Trend Micro. They’re really good, efficient, and they are extremely accurate. They also catch many types of viruses that most programs like Norton will just "leave behind."
Microsoft Security Essentials is also a very good one and it is made by Microsoft themselves. If you’re looking for a fully featured security suite that doesn’t cost you a dime (it’s free), MS Security Essentials is for you.
